Star Trek XI DVD Art and Features

The final box artwork for the three DVD sets of Star Trek XI has been released.

Star Trek XI is coming out in three versions: a three-disc Blu-ray set, and both a single and a double disc DVD set. All three sets can now be pre-ordered at Amazon.

The Star Trek XI three disc Blu-ray set (artwork pictured at end of article) is presented in 1080p High Definition with English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, French 5.1 Dolby Digital and Spanish 5.1 Dolby Digital with English, English SDH, French, Spanish and Portuguese subtitles.

Disc one contains a commentary by director J.J. Abrams, co-writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, producer Damon Lindelof and executive producer Bryan Burk, as well as NASA news courtesy of a BD-Live feature.

The second disk on the Blu-ray set has various behind-the-scenes features including To Boldly Go, Casting, A New Vision, Starships, Aliens, Planets, Props and Costumes, Score, Gag Reel and deleted scenes, a retrospective on Gene Roddenberry‘s vision for Star Trek, Ben Burtt and the Sounds of Star Trek and Starfleet Vessel Simulator.

The third disk includes a digital copy of Star Trek XI, Star Trek D-A-C for XBOX 360 trial game and weblinks to Star Trek D-A-C for both PC and Playstation Network.

The Star Trek XI two-disc DVD is presented in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 televisions with Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround, French 5.1 Surround and Spanish 5.1 Surround with English, French and Spanish subtitles.

Features for the two disc set include movie commentary, A New Vision and a gag reel on the first disc. Features on the second disc include: digital copy of Star Trek XI, nine deleted scenes with optional commentary, To Boldly Go, Casting, Aliens, Score and the D-A-C trial game and weblinks as listed earlier.

The Star Trek XI single disc DVD is presented in widescreen enhanced for 16:9 televisions with Dolby Digital English 5.1 Surround, French 5.1 Surround and Spanish 5.1 Surround with English, French and Spanish subtitles.  The single-disc DVD includes the commentary, A New Vision and the gag reel.
