Jeffrey Combs, best known to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fans for his roles of Weyoun and Liquidator Brunt, and to Star Trek: Enterprise fans as the Andorian Shran, is going from the future to the past in taking on the role of Edgar Allan Poe.
Combs is starring in the ninety-minute one-man play Nevermore which is now appearing at the Steve Allen Theater on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.

2009 DragonCon has ended, but videos, including ones featuring Leonard Nimoy, Patrick Stewart, William Shatner and other Star Trek actors and actresses, are appearing online.
Patrick Stewart talked about his time on Star Trek: The Next Generation. He answered questions from the audience, including one on what was his favorite thing about doing The Next Generation. “I like all the things that involved physical activity,” he said. “I love all riding sequences…anything that got me out of that chair.”

Star Trek: Online has updated its history section, The Path to 2409, adding the year 2392.
In the Federation, President Nan Bacco decides not to run for Federation President, and dozen of candidates, from Jaed Maz of Trill to Federation Councilors Soron of Vulcan and Kevin Steiner of Terra Nova, are possibilities to take her place. Some of these candidates don’t make it all the way until Election Day, though, including one whose ties to the Orion Syndicate is exposed prior to the election.

Star Trek: Online has updated their “Path to 2409″ history section, adding a supplemental log to the history entry for 2391.
The supplemental log entry refers to the exiled Romulan Commander Sela, and expresses concern that Sela is gaining new allies. “I believe Commander Sela has found allies in her bid for power,” said Federation Operative Lieutenant Mark Fischer. “The artificial quantum singularities we were able to track seem to have been left by a species we’ve never encountered before. Commander Sela managed to contact them and begin some sort of negotiations.”

Anton Yelchin, best known to Star Trek fans as Chekov in Star Trek XI, has been cast as Porter in The Beaver.
Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster will play Walter and Meredith Black, parents of Porter. Walter Black, a troubled father, husband and CEO of a failing toy company, finds comfort when he adopts a beaver hand puppet, using it to communicate, to the dismay of his son who wants his mother to divorce her dysfunctional husband.

Star Trek D-A-C will be hitting store shelves this November for both Windows PC and the PlayStation Network.
Already available on the Xbox live Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, the new Windows PC and PlayStation Network versions of Star Trek: D-A-C will feature exclusive new content, including two new ship classes, a new game mode, several new pick-ups, a new map for assault mode and more.

Star Trek Online‘s executive producer spoke about the process of designing the MMORPG.
Making a Star Trek MMO meant finding a new way to explore familiar territory, yet making it fresh and exciting for players. “Well when we got the license we sat in a room and were like ‘OK, what sort of game should we be making with STO?,’” said Zinkievich. “It’s not a case where we said ‘OK, it’s Star Trek and an MMO, lets just apply it.’ There are a number of key features that really drove us in the way that we designed the game.”

Jeri Ryan, best known to Star Trek: Voyager fans as Seven of Nine, will be appearing in the summer finale of Leverage, in The Lost Heir Job episode.
Ryan will portray Tara, a new recurring character, on tonight’s episode of Leverage, which airs at 9:00 P.M. on TNT. In The Lost Heir Job, a crooked lawyer schemes to take over his client’s estate and Parker (Beth Riesgraf) pretends to be the client’s long-lost daughter to lay claim to the estate and thwart the lawyer.

Patrick Stewart‘s days as Captain Jean-Luc Picard are now behind him.
Fans at DragonCon last weekend got the word from Stewart himself that he will probably return in X-Men, but don’t expect to see Jean-Luc Picard again. Audiences “had not seen the last of Xavier,” said Stewart.

Fans waiting for the arrival of Star Trek: Online can enjoy a preview of the game as well as new screenshots of the MMORPG.
What Star Trek fan doesn’t want to be a Federation captain of a starship? In Star Trek: Online, one doesn’t start off as an ensign, gaining power after progressing through various levels of the game to eventually become captain, but begins the game in the captain’s chair right away.

Star Trek: Voyager‘s Captain Janeway shared memories about her years on the show with a DragonCon audience this weekend.
Kate Mulgrew relished playing the first female captain lead role on a Star Trek show. “Just me and a lot of men, just the way I like it,” she said. “You don’t want to make me naughty; it never ends.

The final box artwork for the three DVD sets of Star Trek XI has been released.
Star Trek XI is coming out in three versions: a three-disc Blu-ray set, and both a single and a double disc DVD set. All three sets can now be pre-ordered at Amazon.
