Pine Ready For Star Trek Sequel

1 min read

Although keeping busy with other projects, Chris Pine is looking forward to getting back into the captain’s chair for Star Trek XII.

As reported by the Los Angeles Times, when asked about the status of the sequel to Star Trek XI, Pine admitted that his knowledge was meager. “People have been asking us and I know as much as anybody else,” he said. “I know that they want to get stuff going for 2011, so I don’t know if that means we’ll shoot next year or what, but I haven’t heard anything one way or the other.”
As to whether the cast from the first movie be returning for the sequel, Pine was more confident. “As far as I know [they’re returning], yeah,” he said.

Pine also spoke about the success of Star Trek XI and what surprised him most about it. “I think really the big thing I’ve been surprised by is how many people who weren’t fans…we were able to kind of grab into the fold,” said Pine “To make Star Trek accessible to a wider audience and to a new generation of fans is a wonderful thing, and I’m looking forward to getting back into the second one.”
