Star Trek XI Continues With Strong Opening

After grossing seven million dollars on opening day, Star Trek XI continues to rack up the earnings.

As reported by Google, Star Trek XI took in an additional twenty-four million dollars on Friday, for a combined total of thirty-one million dollars in U.S. ticket sales thus far.

Paramount estimates that the end of the weekend, ticket sales will be close to seventy million dollars, for the best opening weekend ever for a Star Trek movie.

1996’s Star Trek: First Contact grossed 30.7 million dollars on its opening weekend, which translates to over fifty-one million dollars in today’s money.
