Prez Gives Star Trek XI The Thumbs Up

Star Trek XI has been seen by fans ranging from astronauts on the International Space Station, to the President of the United States.

As reported by Newsweek Magazine, President Obama, who is sometimes compared to Spock by his admirers, saw Star Trek XI in the White House theater. “…it turns out we got this nice theater on the ground floor of my house,” he told reporters. “So Star Trek, we saw this weekend, which I thought was good. Everybody was saying I was Spock, so I figured I should check it out and…” The President then made the Vulcan split-fingered salute for the reporters.Obama admitted to being a fan of Star Trek from his childhood days. “I used to love Star Trek,” he said. “You know, Star Trek was ahead of its time. There was a whole, the special effects weren’t real good, but the storylines were always evocative, you know, there was a little commentary and a little pop philosophy for a ten-year-old to absorb.”
