Although some of the actors in Star Trek XI were able to meet their counterparts before or while Star Trek XI was shooting, Chris Pine‘s contact with William Shatner was limited to the written word.
As reported by Hitfix, Pine met Shatner for the first time this weekend in Los Angeles. “I saw Bill last night actually for the first time at his charity show in Burbank,” said Pine.Although the meeting was brief, Pine came away with a positive impression. “He was very kind and it was a very short meeting,” said Pine. “He had a lot of people to see. It was big event that had been taking place all day, but my interaction with him has only been really wonderful.”
Meanwhile, Shatner, as reported by The Times of India, denied the rumors of an alleged feud with the cast of Star Trek XI, while admitting that he would like to be involved in a future Star Trek project. “I wish them all the best,” said Shatner. “I certainly hope it’s a great success. If the movie is successful and they make another one, never say never as James Bond…I loved Star Trek in all its many phases. I dearly would love to be a part of it.”
Shatner also had a message for Pine. “Chris, good luck…and hold your breath. It’s going to be a whirlwind.”
