1 min read

In 2385, Jean-Luc Picard, Beverly Crusher and others leave the USS Enterprise to move on to other assignments in the latest installment of the Star Trek: Online history.

As reported by Star Trek: Online, 2385 means a shake-up in Enterprise personnel, from the top down. Captain Picard resigns from Starfleet and takes a three-month sabbatical in France, then becomes the Federation ambassador to Vulcan.Picard’s departure is not the only Enterprise departure. Chief Medical Officer Beverly Crusher leaves to captain the U.S.S. Pasteur, where she will assist efforts to rebuild hospitals and medical facilities on Cardassia Prime now that the Dominion War has ended.

Chief Engineer Geordi La Forge elects to take a long-term leave of absence to work on personal projects, including studying the Soong-type android B-4.

The major powers are busy too. The Federation, after two years with no reports of Borg activity in Federation space, dismantle its Borg task force, against the wishes of Annika Hansen, the former Seven of Nine. On Romulus, Sela, the half-human, half-Romulan daughter of Tasha Yar, is angling for the position of Praetor as a threat of civil war in the Romulan Empire is averted. There are strained relations between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, and Worf leaves the Enterprise to return to the homeworld to become lead ambassador.
