Star Trek: The Experience To Reopen This May

1 min read

Star Trek: The Experience has a new home and the reopening of the Star Trek-themed exhibit will coincide with the release of Star Trek XI.

As reported by Sci Fi Wire, a contract has been signed with CBS/Paramount that paves the way for the re-emergence of Star Trek: The Experience, which will open on May 8th. Star Trek: The Experience will be housed downtown in the Neonopolis Center.

Initially, the exhibit will open with a new version of Quark’s restaurant, a Museum of the Future (which may include elements from Star Trek XI) and a retail shop.

Some of the elements of the Hilton Star Trek: The Experience, such as costumes, the historic timeline, ship models and such will be moved to a museum that is planned for the new location, but it will take until the end of 2010 for that part of the exhibit to be ready. “I wouldn’t expect the cool stuff for about a year,” said journalist Mark Hansel, who writes for In Business Las Vegas. “A lot of it also depends on the popularity of the movie and how well it does, but the trailer looks like it’s going to be pretty great. The price is going to be cheaper, maybe &_#36;20.00 or &_#36;25.00, and there may be package deals or year-long memberships, that kind of thing.”
