Shatner Taunts Takei

1 min read

The Shatner-Takei feud heats up again. William Shatner isn’t waiting for George Takei to appear on his show to begin hitting a raw nerve.

As reported by The Shatner Project, took pokes at Takei while explaining why Takei hasn’t yet appeared on Raw Nerve. “There’s a process that George has to be vetted, like you would vet a horse that you were going buy or a wife that you were going to marry,” explained Shatner. “You got to vet ’em, you got to do a research, you got to Google ’em. George is being Googled even as we speak. A&E Network needs to OK each name.”

Shatner assured Takei that he would be invited, while at the same time insulting him. “Apparently George wants to be [on the show] but George wants to be everywhere. So George, we’ve got your name on a list. We want to invite you, so now we need A&E’s permission.”

According to Shatner, it’s now OK to invite celebrities like Takei. “We needed people with celebrity value…to get people to watch. Now that people are watching, I’m sure we can step outside and get people with less celebrity, like George.”
